Trabajo de Máster Universitario en Economía, Finanzas y Computación (2022-23). Tutor: Dr. Dº. Nicola Rubino. Information technology and big data processing are tools that can be applied to almost any
field or industry. In this master’s thesis, machine learning techniques, econometric models,
and big data processing techniques will be used in the field of labour studies. The tool
which I will be using to execute these techniques and models is Python. The goal will be
firstly, to process the dataset and to validate and exploit it through statistical techniques and
econometric models. Secondly, we are going to employ some classification techniques
through Machine Learning. Finally, I will show my conclusions on the exercise, which are
oriented to have utility for professional and research goals. The aim of this study is
ultimately to analyse job seekers features to compare them to each other and determine if
they are ideally employable, or not, using Machine Learning and Econometrics.; Las tecnologías de la información y el procesamiento de datos son herramientas que

Tutor: Dr. D. Jared Lee Aurentz. The Black-Scholes model (named after Fischer Black and Myron Scholes) for option valuation is a model used in financial mathematics to theoretically estimate the value of a financial option, of the European option type. However, solving the Black-Scholes equation in higher dimensions requires numerical techniques. In this Master’s thesis, we propose a Chebyshev Pseudo spectral method and Euler Implicit method for pricing European call options and a comparative study of several possible configurations of these two methods. An option is a financial asset that offers the buyer the opportunity to buy or sell depending on the type of contract they hold. Each options contract will have a specific expiration date by which the holder must exercise their option, and it is either worthless or worth more than it was bought for. Black-Scholes partial differential equation presented in 1973, models the fair value of a European call option under certain market assumption. The terminal condition is derived from the difference between the stock price upon maturity and the option strike price, while the boundary conditions are derived from the put-call parity. We use the Chebyshev points as a set of points when discretizing Black-Scholes equation. Knowing that options has been priced with the use of finite differences it works as a comparison to the results of Chebyshev Pseudo- Spectral method. By approximating the initial condition with orthogonal Chebyshev polynomials and truncating the domain, the convergence rate increases significantly.
In this context, numerical experiments confirm a considerable increase in efficiency, especially for large data sets. [1] [2] [2] [3] [4]

significativos para estimar la rentabilidad y volatilidad de ambas series.; The objectives of this research are to analyse the ARCH and GARCH volatility models in order to
determine which model can most accurately explain the historical behaviour of the Ibex 35 and Solaria
S.A. stock market indices and, subsequently, to analyse the stability of the models selected to estimate
the profitability and volatility of both series. The data for the Ibex 35 started from 2 January 2006 to
25 August 2022 and for Solaria S.A. from 19 June 2007 to 25 August 2022 were obtained from Yahoo
Finance, using RStudio software. It was found that the GARCH(1,1) model is more efficient for the
Ibex 35 series and for Solaria S.A. the best model is the AR(2)-GARCH(1,1), both models were
statistically significant for estimating the return and volatility of both series.

Trabajo de Máster en Economía, Finanzas y Computación. Tutor: Dr. D. Antonio J. Tallón Ballesteros. In this work, the recurring problems which databases usually present are analyzed and studied: missing data or missing values. Six imputation methods are assessed after its application to regression data sets are evaluated in the presence of missing values. In addition, the improvement percentages in the prediction according to Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) and R2 are determined for three different algorithms in eight databases, being the main goal to determine where there is an ideal imputation method with the best performance for all cases where there are missing values, or on the contrary, it is convenient to adopt different imputation procedures according to the applied regression method and the analyzed database.
