La Carta de Baeza sobre Patrimonio Agrario : Protocolo para su actualización y aplicación en el ámbito internacional

Abstract

La Carta de Baeza sobre Patrimonio Agrario. Es un documento surgido del trabajo interdisci­plinar de los investigadores del Proyecto PAGO y de los participantes en el Seminario "El Patrimonio Agrario: razones para el reconocimiento cultural de los bienes agrícolas y ganaderos", organizado por la Universidad Internacional de Andalucía en su sede Antonio Machado de Baeza los días 26 y 27 de octubre de 2012. En él se establecen las claves para definir, valorar y proteger los bienes agrarios, y lo hace proponiendo un nuevo tipo de bien cultural, el Patrimonio Agrario, el cual tiene como elemen­to constitutivo esencial la actividad agraria, cuya existencia y mantenimiento será determinante en cualquier acción tutelar sobre el mismo. Este documento es el resultado del Encuentro In­ternacional "El Patrimonio Agrario como Patrimonio Mundial: buscando confluencias entre los mecanismos de protección de la UNESCO y la FAO", organizado por la Universidad Internacional de Andalucía en su sede Antonio Machado de Baeza los días 24, 25 y 26 de noviembre de 2021. Su objetivo es actualizar y desa­rrollar la Carta de Baeza sobre Patrimonio Agrario, especialmente en lo relativo a su implementación a nivel internacional por parte de los organismos de la ONU con competencias en el reconocimiento y valo­ración de los bienes agrarios.

The Charter of Baeza on Agrarian Heritage. It is a document that emerged from the interdisciplinary work of the researchers of the PAGO Project and the participants in the Seminar "Agrarian Heritage: reasons for the cultural recognition of farming and livestock properties", organised by the International University of Andalusia at its Antonio Machado headquartes of Baeza on the 26th and 27th of October 2012. It sets out the keys to defining, enhancing, and protecting agrarian heritage properties by proposing a new type of cultural property, Agrarian Heritage. The essential constituent element of this heritage is agrarian activity, whose existence and maintenance should be a determining factor in any action to protect it. This document is the result of the International Meeting on "Agrarian Heritage as World Heritage: searching for a common ground between the protection mechanisms from UNESCO and FAO", organized by the International University of Andalusia at its Antonio Machado headquarters of Baeza on the 24th, 25th, and 26th of November 2021. Its objective is to update and develop the Charter of Baeza on Agrarian Heritage, especially with regard to its implementation at international level by the UN bodies with competences in the recognition and enhancement of agrarian heritage properties.
