La imagen de la intervención asistida con animales en la prensa escrita : una revisión narrativa

Introducción: Se conoce la Intervención Asistida con Animales (IAA) desde un punto de vista conceptual, cuál es la situación actual en España respecto a este tipo de intervenciones y, además, qué importancia y relación tienen los medios de comunicación con la misma. Justificación: A lo largo de los años, la prensa escrita ha ido reflejando la evolución y el surgimiento de las IAA en España. La imagen que estas muestran a los futuros usuarios es clave para la concepción que tengan de ellas. Se trata de conocer esta imagen y poder valorar de forma crítica cuando leemos sobre las IAA. Objetivos: Observaremos la imagen que dan al lector, entre otros, cuando hablan del papel del animal en este tipo de intervenciones. Con esto nos referimos a qué palabras van a utilizar para ello y si valorarán la seriedad que esta actividad conlleva y ha ido adquiriendo con su propio desarrollo. Además, se conocerán aquellos colectivos, receptores de la intervención, que muestran estos medios y qué objetivos y resultados obtenidos nos cuentan sobre cada uno de ellos en particular. Metodología: En este trabajo se mostrará una selección de artículos y noticias, contempladas desde el año 1993 a la actualidad, de la prensa escrita en España. Se extraen los fragmentos que incluyen los conceptos clave de los objetivos a conseguir y se examinan exhaustivamente. Resultados: Se obtiene un abanico muy amplio de estos, que se contraponen hasta dentro de un mismo artículo y no encuentran un patrón temporal ni de opinión según el periódico. Conclusiones: La imagen que se proyecta requiere de una investigación previa y posterior de las IAA. Se encuentran variedad de opiniones contradictorias dentro de una misma noticia, por lo que el lector de las mismas puede decantarse por una imagen u otra.

Introduction: Animal-Assisted Intervention (AAI) is analysed from a conceptual point of view, what the current situation is in Spain regarding this type of intervention and, furthermore, what importance and relationship the media has with it. Justification: Throughout the years, written press has reflected the evolution and emergence of AAI in Spain. The image projected to future users is key for their conception of them. It is about knowing the image and being able to evaluate it critically when we read about AAI. Objectives: The image given to the reader when they talk about the role of the animal in this type of intervention will be analysed, among other aspects. What words do they use, whether they value the seriousness that this activity entails and has acquired with their own development. In addition, intervention’s recipients showed by press, what are the objectives and results obtained and what do they tell us about each one of them in particular. Methodology: In this work, a selection of articles and news items from written press in Spain from 1993 to the present will be studied. The fragments that include the key concepts of the objectives to be achieved have been extracted and examined exhaustively. Results: A very wide range of these results is obtained, which are contrasted even within the same article and do not find a temporal or opinion pattern according to the newspaper. Conclusions: The image projected requires previous and subsequent investigation by the AAI. A variety of contradictory opinions can be found within the same news item, so the reader can choose one idea or another.
