Cuidadores familiares en entornos rurales : redes de apoyo y desafíos

In the sociodemographic field and taking into account the predictions about progressive aging, if current demographic trends were maintained, it means that in 2037 the population aged 65 years and over would be 26% of the Spanish population (INE) This percentage, together with the increase in chronicity, the dependency that it generates and the need for highly complex care, presents a scenario in which the family assumes care with a high degree of variability with respect to the quantity and quality of care, influencing the training and involvement of the caregiver, the place of residence and the support networks and available social and health resources. Objective: Identify the support networks and resources available for family caregivers in rural areas, areas that present a deficit regarding social and health resources. Determine the influence that limited or non-existent resources have on the provision of care and its quality.

En el ámbito sociodemográfico y teniendo en cuenta las predicciones sobre el progresivo envejecimiento, si se mantuvieran las tendencias demográficas actuales supone que en 2037 la población de 65 años y más sería del 26 % de la población española (INE). Este porcentaje unido al aumento de la cronicidad, la dependencia que esta genera y la necesidad de cuidados altamente complejos, nos presenta un escenario en el cual la familia asume el cuidado con un alto grado de variabilidad respecto a la cantidad y calidad del cuidado, influyendo la capacitación e implicación del cuidador, el lugar de residencia y las redes de apoyo y los recursos sociosanitarios disponibles. Objetivo: Identificar las redes de apoyo y recursos disponibles para los cuidadores familiares en zonas rurales, zonas que presentan déficit respecto a recursos sociales y sanitarios. Determinar la influencia que los recursos limitados o inexistentes tienen sobre la provisión del cuidado y la calidad del mismo.
