This research aims to analyse the facilitating elements that make maintaining a job for people with serious mental illness (SMI) a source of well-being and satisfaction for the worker, focusing on support, whether it is given or perceived by the worker. Due to the great difficulties this group has had when it comes to entering the labour market, with the lowest insertion rate even among people with disabilities, there is a small number of research studies on these workers with disabilities. We assume that employment is an essential milestone in the recovery of people with SMI, it restructures the person's life, improving their autonomy, reducing income and expenditure on socio-community resources, facilitating the development of social relationships, etc. For this study, we took a sample of 39 mentally disabled workers from Huelva, who are attended by the SOAE (Employment Guidance and Support Service) of FAISEM. We focused on studying how perceived support influences job satisfaction. For this purpose, we administered the Perceived Organizational Support questionnaires, adapted to Spanish by Ortega in 2003 from the abridged version of the original Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS) by Eisenberger et al. 1986 (Ortega, 2003) and the Job Satisfaction Questionnaire S10/12 developed by Meliá and Peiró (1989). The data were analysed in the SPSS programme, finding a positive correlation between both variables, analysed with Spearman's Rho coefficient=0.423. In conclusion, we can see that there is a positive relationship between the support perceived by the worker and job satisfaction, following the same line as the studies analysed.en
